Global Offshore Wind Energy Summit - Taiwan 2020 I Registrations now open! (21-23 April 2020)

31 01 2020 | 15:17

After the success of last year's event, Global Offshore Wind Summit - Taiwan is back again this 21 - 23 April in Taipei, Taiwan! In 2019, the event attracted more than 500 attendees and featured45 high-level speakers throughout two full days of activities. This year, the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) together with the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan - Low Carbon Initiative (ECCT - LCI) are proud co-organisers of this event once again. As the only wind conference endorsed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), it will feature keynotes and panel discussions offering an in-depth exploration of key challenges and opportunities for Taiwan's burgeoning offshore wind market.

To make these ambitions a reality and ensure that Taiwan reaches its potential as the next big offshore wind energy market, we are proud to be working with the Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC) and Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) in this year's edition as co-organisers of the event.

TAIWAN IS THE OFFSHORE MARKET IN ASIA

After Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen’s re-election this month, we are more confident than ever that Taiwan will continue to be a leader in the energy transition, both in Asia and globally. Three years ago, Taiwan started to transform its energy policies under a clear vision for a clean energy future from the DPP government which has powered the impressive offshore wind growth we have seen in the region and contributed to stronger energy security. With the continuation of the DPP government in office, along with their commitment to offshore wind as shown with the updated offshore target of an additional 10 GW between 2026-2036 announced in November 2019, it is clear that Taiwan will continue rapidly down the path of their clean energy future.
