Since 1987 IZEN provides renewable energy solutions and services to residential, commercial and industrial customers. The company deals with the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems, next to energy storage and heat pumps. Within the years, IZEN has become one of the biggest market players in Belgium and the Netherlands. It is also now part of the VINCI Energies Group, the world player in the construction and concession sectors.

As an EPC and O&M company, IZEN needed the most reliable and flexible tool to maximize the performance and availability of its solar installations while reducing their maintenance and reporting costs. IZEN chose SynaptiQ, 3E’s asset management and performance optimization software, to monitor and benchmark its 110 MWp O&M solar portfolio. This portfolio, located in Belgium and the Netherlands, is expected to grow to 200 MWp by the end of this year.

“We are truly thrilled to launch this new partnership. With its long-standing history in PV development and maintenance, IZEN is a truly mature company and a challenging customer. Moreover, it is great to see that we have different clients and partners in common, now using together our monitoring, financial reporting and forecasting services”, Steven Moens, Benelux & UK Sales Manager at 3E, explains.

3E also advised on and provided IZEN with the hardware to use for monitoring its solar portfolio, such as data loggers and ambient or temperature sensors. We additionally guided our client through the on-site installation of several data logger types and offered information on how to retrieve data from APIs, like WebdynSun, Meier-NT, Huawei Smartlogger, Fronius Datamanager and the SolarEdge API. 3E will continue to provide support on this matter during the deployment phase of IZEN’s growing O&M portfolio.

Gie Verbunt, Managing Director at IZEN: “We evaluated the market and found SynaptiQ to be the best solution in the marketplace. The SynaptiQ team has been helpful all the way through, especially in the implementation phase. SynaptiQ will help us in our further expansion in the Netherlands where we are developing the world’s largest rooftop project.”

Steven Moens adds: “Next steps are now, among other, to devise a good onboarding strategy for the further integration of the portfolio, and to find the best solutions to meet the client’s specific needs.”
