To reach solar output of 1 GWp by 2020, Vietnam turns to commercial and industrial solar PV rooftop applications. Last year, EVN installed rooftop solar systems at 54 locations with a total capacity of 3.2 MWp. Recently, a program on rooftop solar (RTS) photovoltaic development to install 100,000 new RTS systems nationwide by 2025 was launched. Meanwhile Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has agreed with continuing the current FiT rate at 9.35 US cents per kWh for rooftop solar power projects nationwide until 2021 as proposed by the MoIT.
