UN Climate Change News, 5 July 2019— From 19 to 23 August, Salvador Hall events centre will be turned into a “Climate City” to host the Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week 2019 (LACCW) which is set to boost the region’s response to the current climate emergency.

Hosted by the Federal Government of Brazil, the LACCW is organized by a partnership of international and regional organizations and by the City of Salvador da Bahía.

The results of the LACCW will feed into the outcome of the Climate Action Summit organized by the UN Secretary-General on 23 September in New York with the ultimate objective of boosting ambition and accelerating the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The agenda of the LACCW is published online and will showcase a dynamic schedule of activities that will demonstrate increasing climate ambition across the region, from technical discussions to thematic dialogues.

Registration for the Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week 2019 is open here.

Located in Patamares, an eastern district of Salvador da Bahía, Salvador Hall is 10 minutes away from Salvador International Airport and can be  accessed directly from the city centre by metro and public bus.

All logistical information about the LACCW, including details about the venue Salvador Hall, is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese here.
