On behalf of The Economist Events and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Greecein association withUN SDSN Mediterranean,UN SDSN Black SeaandEIT Climate-KIC Hub Greece, we are delighted to invite you at the Third Sustainability Summit for south-east Europe and the Mediterranean.

Within the context of Agenda 2030, governments, civil society, academia and the private sector are working together towards achieving efficient and effective implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.  In October 2018 the IPCC special report on “Global Warming of 1.5 ºC” warned that there are only a dozen years for global warming to be kept to a maximum of 1.5C, beyond which, even half a degree will significantly worsen the risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people around the globe. Urgent and unprecedented changes are needed to reach the target.

The Third Sustainability Summit for south-east Europe and the Mediterranean will take place on 16th and17th October 2019 at Goulandris Natural History Museum, Athens (Levidou 13, Kifisia, 145 62). Over the years this Summit has developed into the main annual meeting of high-profile academics, innovators, politicians, policy makers and civil society stakeholders in the South-East Europe and the Mediterranean, convening networks of expertise, mobilizing resources and influencing regional policy for the urgently needed sustainability transition.
